Title: Error: Invalid page format
Post by: t2000kw on February 01, 2009, 10:41:18 PM
Here's the message I'm getting:

2/1/2009 5:31:51 PM >  Set group's info (Amateur-repairs)
2/1/2009 5:31:51 PM >  Authorization started
2/1/2009 5:31:54 PM >  Authorization accomplished
2/1/2009 5:31:54 PM >  Request number of messages
2/1/2009 5:31:56 PM >  Error : Invalid page format.

While I use Firefox web browser for security reasons, I logged in with IE to make sure that the cached information was there since it was mentioned in previous responses to this issue. I am able to download messages from another group, Grow-Hops.

I tried to run the PGO.bat file. It runs but does not initiate the program in Windows Vista. The DOS box tells me that pgoffline25.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program, or batch file.

I tried running the batch file in XP compatibility mode and that didn't change anything.

(suggestion: could a debug menu item be added in a future release for us Vista users?)

Thanks for any help!!

Donald

Hi Donald,

Usually, if you can read one group and not another its because the group you can read is public (does not require authorisation) and the group you can't read is private (does require authorisation).

I've looked at Grow Hops and it is a private group (members only) so you do need autorisation which means that your login is working fine.

This also assumes that you are using the same login for both groups? It is possible to set individual login details by group if required.

How long has this been going on for?  Yahoo sometimes make changes to page formats and then back them out.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Hi Donald,

There does appear to be some sort of format change happening on YG!.

It manifests itself as a page asking you to, more or less, join the group you've already joined.

Needless to say, we're looking at it right now.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Hi Donald,

We were most of the way through fixing this when Yahoo switched back to their old format. I can now access Amateur-repairs.

Can you try it now?

Cheers,

Wilson.

This error seems to be back?

Yes. I've just tried Amatuer-repairs and its IPF'ing. More than likely the same problem.

We'll have a look at it.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I was away for about 10 days. Everything was fine as of 3/15; when I returned (tonight), I'm getting invalid page format on all the groups I've checked. I'm still using 2.5.47, but having read some of the messages about bugs in later versions, am reluctant to upgrade yet (and it's not clear that doing so would clear up the invalid pages). So, two questions:
1. If I upgrade and need to rollback to 2.5.47, can you remind me of how to do that?
2. Is there a list somewhere of the new features/bugfixes for the new version?

Hello,

I also get an invalid page format message on all my groups. Upgrading to the latest version didn't solve it this time.

I don't think it's the server switch over. I get the 'Authorization accomplished' then when it gets to 'Receive message: nnnnnn' it sits there for ages with the CPU utilization going right up until eventually, by which I mean several minutes, I get an 'Invalid page format'.

I've looked using the web interface and it looks to me like the page layout has changed subtley. I'm working from memory but I don't recall the block to the right of the message itself having the sender's details or more especially a set of options for displaying the full message, wrapping the lines, or displaying in fixed width font?

I'm wondering if the critical thing is a change in terms of divisions and names of these?

By the way I encountered this then upgraded to 3.0.67 and still get the problem.

Hi,

We are examining the cause of the program hang in case it is anything that can be rectified now.

BTW I am not seeing any format change. It could just be that my groups haven't been moved yet.

Can you send me a sample screenshot of one of your groups that is showing the changes?

You can email me at
