Hello,

Newbie here.

Trying to install 3-0-051 on WinXP SP3

'The Windows Installer cannot be installed by the Windows Installer Service. You must install a
Windows Service Pack that contains a newer version of the Windows Installer Service'

Can anyone PLEASE advise?

Hi Peter,

Please download this newer installer (it is required for .NET 2.0 programs)

http://www.personalgroupware.com/groupmanager/WindowsInstaller-KB884016-v2-x86.exe

save the file to your PC, close all open programs and run the file.

Now you should be able to install the program. Best to use the latest version:

http://www.personalgroupware.com/groupmanager/PGOffline-3-0-064.exe

Thank you, Wilson.

I tried your solution and it failed. Same message, same result.

I then tried an even  newer installer, 4.5, and made sure to use the version for XP SP3. It failed, same message. Same result.

Do you have any other possible ideas? Please...

Have you tried logging in as Adminstrator and installing ?
