I've been having a problem with the "Refresh All Groups" button and Automatic Refreshes. I am running PGO version 2.5.49.
My usual mode of operation is to come home from work, start PGO, hit "Refresh All Groups" button and let it auto refresh once an hour until I turn the PC off a few hours later. I've been noticing that a few of the groups have the dreaded IPF error. After the refresh, I can right click on the group and select "Receive Message" and this time it will download the groups messages without any problem. So, what is different about "Refresh All Groups" Button and individual "Receive Messages"? This doesn't happen on groups, just a few.

???
Hi Michael,
It'll be a problem with the page that PGO starts on when doing the Refresh.
If you could send me the dubug file for this error I would be grateful.
Cheers,
Wilson.
I'll run it tonight. I'm pretty sure I have the commands to start the debug process somewhere in my saved email. But just in case, can you send the commands again!

Hi Michael,
The debug pages you sent me indicate that you're not signed in. Actually I should have spotted this from the off. When you said some groups work and others don't, its a fair bet that the ones that still work are the public groups that you don't need authorization for.
Please set 'Skip Authorization' (in File-->Options--> Workflow) to off and try again.
Cheers,
Wilson.
Wilson,
This is how my options are set..

I still get the IPF errors. Since I had a log-in problem before, that was one of the first things I checked!

Hi Michael,
Are you using more than one ID in Yahoo (and PGO) ?
Cheers,
Wilson.
Wilson,
Nope. And remember the weird part. If I right mouse click on the group and select "Receive Messages" it works. It's only in the "refresh all groups" and auto refresh that I have problems. The other thing I've noticed is that sometime "refresh all groups" works on some groups, sometimes it doesn't. Very weird!

Looking for a problem that seems intermittent is difficult and frustrating until you see the pattern that points to the underlying commonality.
groups.yahoo is, itself, organized into groups, such as health.groups.yahoo.com and tech.groups.yahoo and finance.groups. You can see this in the address bar when in the group. Do you see a pattern in the subgroups that you can not reach?

Gabe,
I just went through several hours of the PGO logfile looking for a pattern. And I can't see one! All of the groups I've looked at so far show up "http://groups.yahoo.com/group/groupname" format.
Everytime PGO refreshes between 7 and 12 groups seem to get the IPF error in the log. Although some groups fall into this catagory across several updates, eventually PGO gets a connection and downloads the messages. Right Clicking on the groups and selecting "Receive Messages" seems to always work.
Now that I think about it, I'm not sure when IE7 got forced on my machine, but my PGO problems seem to have started around that time.....although I may be over thinking!!!!!

This morning I turned off authorization (checked skip authorization in options). PGO was able to check each group and get # of messages. No IPF errors reported .... or in at least two updates. (i.e. two hours).

It could be this double login screen.
If you skip authorisation PGO doesn't attempt to login for each group so, no double login screen.
Lets assume that yahoo display it at a random number of logins. If you're not logging in to all groups individually, you'll not see it.
Thoughts?
Cheers,
Wilson.
Yes, I do think this is what is going on.
