Title: New error message
Post by: jeremy on September 08, 2006, 08:27:48 AM
Wilson, I'm getting some new error messages on some groups this morning:

08.09.2006 09:36:22 >  Set group's info (Digitrax)
08.09.2006 09:36:22 >  Authorization skipped
08.09.2006 09:36:23 >  Request number of messages
08.09.2006 09:36:27 >  Number of messages : 104014
08.09.2006 09:36:27 >  Set group's info (n_scale)
08.09.2006 09:36:27 >  Authorization skipped
08.09.2006 09:36:28 >  Request number of messages
08.09.2006 09:36:29 >  Error : Eine Redirect-Anforderung ?ndert eine nicht sichere in eine sichere Verbindung
08.09.2006 09:36:29 >  Set group's info (ngauge)
08.09.2006 09:36:29 >  Authorization skipped
08.09.2006 09:36:30 >  Request number of messages
08.09.2006 09:36:31 >  Error : Eine Redirect-Anforderung ?ndert eine nicht sichere in eine sichere Verbindung

Google translates the error as: A Redirect requirement changes a not safe into a safe connection

Is it just me or what? Many thanks, Jeremy

Hi Guys

Alex has created a new DLL which you can try.

Download it from here:

http://www.pgoffline.com/test/yg_mr.dll

go to your PG Offline install directory (probably C:/Program Files/PG Offline) and rename the yg_mr.dll which is currently there to yg_mr.old

Now copy the new, downloaded one into the install directory and run PG Offline.

If it doesn't work or causes trouble, reverse the procedure by deleting the yg_mr.dll from the install directory and  renaming the yg_mr.old back to yg_mr.dll

Cheers,

Wilson.

The new .dll seems to be working for me.  Thanks!

Great!

I'll ask Alex to make it into a full version.

Cheers

Wilson, thanks. I have been away for the weekend so have only this minute tried your fix. Unfortunately it doesn't solve the problem for me. The same groups are giving the same error message (thanks Tammi for the English version!). Other groups are still working fine. Any more ideas? Jeremy

Sorry mate not a clue.  Can you try it on another computer but on the same connection? Like maybe a laptop? That would tell us if its specific to your PC or connection.

Cheers

Wilson.

Wilson, my problem is solved! While reading the "Nothing happens" thread I noticed your statement "PG Offline works with IE not Firefox". I never use IE intentionally, only Firefox, but I tried one of my groups in IE and found I was not logged in. So I logged in, logged out as fast as possible, and tried PGO again. Eureka!! Everything works. I have 2000 new messages to read. Wonderful - I feel like I have come alive again.

Thank you, and please write somewhere in even bigger letters that it is essential to login to one group with IE.

Wow, weeks of frustration ended. Happy days! Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

Theoretically you should not require to login using IE if you have "Skip Authorization" switched off (box unchecked).

Personally, I would leave it switched off by default.

If you did try it with  "Skip Authorization" switched off & it didn't work, can you let me know which version you have as it *should* work.

Thanks,

Wilson.

Wilson, my current version is 2.5.48. I have always run with "Skip Authorisation" checked, even yesterday when I received every message from every group after logging in in IE. Today, still with SA checked, almost every group failed with "Invalid Format". So I unchecked SA, tried again, and received  every message from every group OK. Moral: keep SA unchecked as you suggest.

If SA is checked, is it possible for PGO to detect that skipping authorisation is not working, and to stop, or to do the authorisation just for one group, or something?

Many thanks, Jeremy

Yes, I have already suggested that to the developer.

But for now, just leave it off !

Cheers,

Wilson.
