Title: Recovery after Yahoo format changes
Post by: jeremy on March 23, 2006, 09:48:37 AM
Could we have a command to reset all download start #s back to one more than the last message stored in the database? That would really help us to recover after Yahoo makes one of its famous format changes and you sort it out for us. It might even be sensible for PGO to start always at last+1 on the first download after it has been loaded - probably should be an option.

Hi Jeremy,

The counter does not increase for IPFs (doesn't on my PC at least!).

It does for "Message XXX does not exist" errors though.

Cheers,

Wilson.

"IPF"?

In this latest format change, all except UK and DE groups had their last message # changed to one more than the last on Yahoo, even though the last message on my database was unchanged from yesterday. I could see no sign in my database of the missing messages. There were no errors reported in the PGO logging pane either.

Wilson, many thanks for reacting so quickly - the new patch fixes it for me.
