Title: How to create and use a database of received messages
Post by: ivorybow on January 16, 2006, 06:47:30 PM
Sorry, but I am really confused here about how to save the downloaded messages permanently. My problem is what to do with the downloaded messages to save them after I have received them. I tried creating a database with the first batch and I see 4 files in the PG Offline folder called ygroups.mdb, ygroups2.mdb and ygroups.lbd
I cannot open these files. After I received the next batch of messages, the are listed in the open window, but all the selections having to do with database under the File pulldown menu are deactivated by being greyed out. Where do these messages go and how can I save them on my computer permanently? And, do I create a new databse for each batch of downloaded messages (from the same Yahoo group)?

Hi,

When you receive messages they are automatically saved in an MS Access database called ygroups.mdb

If you have MS Access installed you will be able to open the database but this is not necessary as the PG Offline program is a not only a download tool it is also a reading & searching tool.

Cheers,

Wilson.
