Title: Copy and paste
Post by: Denos on April 24, 2005, 08:34:05 AM
Either PG Offline or Mr. Gates is driving me up the wall. Any tips?

I'm trying to copy lots of messages into WordPad for further transmission to a blog. SOMETIMES Control + C control + V works automatically, but often the text of the message ends up in a narrow column on the left. If I try again a few times, with increasing impatience, there's a lot to do, it eventually copies correctly - but it's unpredictable how many times I must erase, re-copy and re-insert.

Hi Dennis,

I'm a bit busy to look at this in detail right now but have you tried either Word or Notepad? One gives more formatting & the other less formatting. One or other may be more suitable than Wordpad.

I suspect the root problem is that PGO takes the messages as it finds them on Yahoo. It doesn't do any formatting of its own.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Wilson,

Thanks as always - just to report I seem to have found a very simple solution. If I don't mess around with any other program, but copy and paste direct from PG Offline I get beautiful results in Blogger, every single time. I'm lucky that the group I'm working on is one that still gets content downloaded.

I do hope Yahoo quietens down very soon.
