Hi Wilson,
Our group is growing nicely, and the paranoid system administrator in me is looking for a way to backup the entire group including Calendar, Links, Messages, Files, Photos, Databases and membership.
I have yet to find a way to get the data out Calendar especially. And being able to create an offline backup of the entire group regularly would give me the ability to roll back to a known point should we lose information due to a malicious or accident-prone member, or other unforseen incident.
Y! Groups have a means of exporting membership and database records so am not averse to doing those as additional steps if needs be.

Hi Geoff,
Your request will be added to the development queue.
If anyone else wants to comment or add to Geoffs suggestion, feel free.
Cheers,
Wilson.
I see we weren't overwhelmed with negative posts at least :-\
Reading the news forum there have been requests for downloading links before...so I know I'm not alone.
Is the 'development queue' visible somewhere?
Geoff
Hi Geoff,
I've taken to posting it in the News & Updates section. However, here's the latest queue:
36) I usually use the search function to read posts concerning particular subjects.I also like using the favourite function to mark post that I will read again another day. But I can not use both functions in the same time, so I use a piece of paper to note message numbers I?ll add in my favourites.

37) Detect Win XP SP2 & warn user.
38) Automatic reg code generation (php, etc)
39) I see what you mean? PGO forwards via its own email client with cannot use a server which requires authorization (as yours does). I will ask the developer whats involved in making the forward feature use the default mail client.

40) It would be nice if you could select both refresh groups at start up and set a periodic update. This way it is refreshed immediately when I start and
then automatically will I'm doing other things.

41) How about a "refresh all" option for databases. Perhaps the refresh list could be user defined in a window you open in File -> Options--> Refresh Groups. Basically, its shows a list of all databases and groups with a check box at the left so that you can tag the group for refresh or not e.g.
Refresh Database Group Start DL End DL
[X] Astronomy MagellanMeridian 1201 Last
[X] Astronomy DeepSkyImager 45596 Last
[ ] energy altfuelfurnace 5637 6574
[X] energy vegoilburners 7400 Last
[X] energy Wastewatts 12840 15000
[ ] ygroups hobbicast 6920 Last
[X] ygroups HPPrinters 10607 13005
[X] ygroups karting 34785 Last
[X] ygroups metalshapers 65876 Last
[ ] Check All [ ] Uncheck All
You could use these entries to build a "refresh" table (or add a field to tblGroups to indicate refresh y/n)
42) <Internal change>
43) Allow users to search between two dates or two message numbers rather than search an entire group.
44) Add a user defined data entry field for a table to hold all the possible values for RE:, re:, re:re, AW:, SV:, Betrifft:, R?f. :, R:, etc.
We will have all the ones we have now as default in the table but the users can add their own as it becomes necessary.
45) Our group is growing nicely, and the paranoid system administrator in me is looking for a way to backup the entire group including Calendar, Links, Messages, Files, Photos, Databases and membership.
