Title: subject-field sort issue
Post by: ginahoy on April 06, 2005, 03:54:44 PM
Hi Wilson,
I often rely on pgo's ability to sort messages by subject field and appreciate that it ignores "Re:" in the sort sequenece.

However, some non-english email programs apparently use other forms of "Re:" in the subject field of a reply.  Two variations have shown up in EQ6, Nexstar and SCT-user:

R?f. :
R:

Indeed, when you do a subject sort (to simulate a 'thread-sort'), any messages that begin with "R:" or "R?f. :" will be sorted out-of-order and thus would be missed.

Likewise in the German groups:

Sorry to bring this up during your times of trouble. Jeremy.

I'll see if we can't add a user defined field for this, so you can enter your own as you come across them.

Cheers,

 Wilson.
