Title: Skipped messages
Post by: bkatz on September 24, 2004, 06:04:16 PM
When PG offline doesn't download messages (skipped or "invalid page format" errors), will it automatically retrieve those messages if the "settings" message parameters include those message numbers? i.e. PG offline missed messages 2, 5, 8 and 10, I reset the message parameters to start with 1 and end with 12, will it pick up messages 2, 5, 8 and 10 on the second pass?

P.S. Great program, can't wait to download and search through all my groups using it!! Much better search feature than Yahoo's current version.

Hi,

Some messages are deleted by the group owner & so are not available. Once you have completed your download you can run a process to attempt to reload any missed messages.

You should highlight the group you want to check, right click on it, choose "Find Missing Messages", choose "Check", choose 'Get Missing". You will be given the opportunity to save a report of the missing messages. Once you have chosen, PG Offline will automatically attempt to retrieve any missing messages.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Thanks for the response.
Looks like it'll be a while before I can finish the initial downloading -- at 175-200 messages at a time (to avoid lock-out), 22900 total, and a dial-up connection this is taking a while. But I'm more than halfway there, and happy to have found a program that does this. Have been wanting to archive messages from this group for more than three years, and just happened to stumble on your program.
Thanks again for the good work.
