Title: windows service pack 2 aka sp2
Post by: asandl on August 21, 2004, 03:07:39 AM
hi -- just wondering if you've had any problems with microsoft sp2 (which i've recently installed) -- i ran pg offline tonite and it seemed to lock up -- however, i restarted it and it worked ok...

given its function i would think there might be some problems with pgoffline being able to automatically download the messages...

Hi,

Hmmm if it locks up again can you get a screen shot of any error messages?

Thanks,

Wilson.

Hi Wilson -- thanks for the reply. If this happens again, I will send you a screen shot. Hopefully, there won't be any problem.

Hi,

Can you check this link out:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=842242&product=windowsxpsp2

It specifically mentions programs not running after SP2 has been installed & what to check for.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I am running PG offline with XP SP-2 with no apparent ill effects.

Hi Bruce,

Are you running the Windows classic theme or standard XP theme?

Thanks,

Wilson.

I know I'm not Bruce :o

I've got XP running SP2  with the Windoze Classic theme, runs fine.

Hi Gavin,

Yes, Classic theme will work. There's something in XP SP2 Windows theme that conflicts with PGO.

Mind you, PGO is not alone. Do a Google on "SP2 Conflict". I got 74,800 hits !

Cheers,

Wilson.
