Title: exported groups
Post by: phazei on July 04, 2004, 12:49:33 PM
When I export a database then load it I get this error every time I open that database:

Error during read Master Login / Password.
Error information: The Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the object 'tblSystem'. Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and the path name correctly.

Then it asks for the login / pass.  I enter it but then I get the error once again.  Then it works fine.

But if I create a 'new database' then add the groups to the list, then import, it doesn't give those errors.

What version have you got?

Thanks,

Wilson.

I think I had 2.5.14 or .15.... but I upgraded to .17 yesterday and the problem still occures.  In order to create a good export I need to create a new database and import the groups I need.

Please send me a full screen shot with the error in it.

Thanks,

Wilson.

I just tried it again and I lost my entire database!!!

I went to the pgoffline folder and the file is only 140k and it gives me the same error it did before... sigh.

OK, your database is corrupt.

Save a copy of your ygroups.mdb file to another folder. Uninstall the version you have now and then download & install the latest full version:

http://www.pgoffline.com/groupmanager/PGOffline-2-5-017.exe

Then you can go to File-->  Import from Folder & try to import your group messages from the copied ygroups.mdb file.

If that doesn?t work, let me know what groups you have & I?ll download them & make the archives available to you.  Or we can just do that right now & forget trying to import the messages you already have.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Wilson,

I've had this same problem on all of the versions of PGO. I didn't say anything about it because I just thought that you had to import to an existing database. It doesn't matter what group it is, it happens that way on every single group.

If you try to open the exported file it will show that error, but if you import it into an existing database it works just fine.

What I suspect is that it's not exporting the log in and subscription information during export. However, I'm not a computer programmer. I can paint to the moon and back, but not program anything to do with a computer (unless, you count html, which I don't)!

I just del my ygroups database and redownloaded all the groups.  Everything is fine unless I try to do what Tammi said.

Regarding opening the exported file (rather than importing it), the file shouldn't be opened with PGO, its an .mdb file so it should only be opened with MS Access.
