Title: Database Size
Post by: wundrbee on June 13, 2004, 02:51:19 AM
For some reason the database size does not change when I delete mesages. What I'm trying to do with my databases is Export my groups into increments of one or two thousand messages and delete the messages after export. This way, I can I can keep the database more manageable, both in size and for working with messages. Am I missing something?

Tammi,

Yes. You need to  close PG Offline, go to the folder with the database file (ygroups.mdb) and double click on the file. MS Access will open. Now choose Tools--> Database Utilities--> Compact & Repair Database.
That will reduce your database size after you delete messages or tables.

Eventually this will be an option from within PGO.

Cheers,

Wilson.
