Todd,

Yahoo periodically drops their system to do maintainence. It used to only be early Friday morning but recently they've been doing a lot more updates. My advice... try again later. If you still can't get in, mail me.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Ok,
It's at it again.
Can't download any messages.  Invalid page...............
when it does work it will only go through a few groups and then does that bull.
What should my settings be?????????
Thanks.

BTW, It was much simpler when we first starting running the program.  Did yahoo do this because of your program or what???????

I have my settings at 15 per minute, 0 delay, 200 messages, wait 60.
On failure re-request message 1 time, stop after 2 but just changed that to 10.

I unplugged my charter modem in the kids bedroom computer and then restarted my laptop in my room.  Does that reset the isp.  My laptop is 802.11b.

Still does not work either on refresh all or an individual group.  Any Ideas?

Did you get that email I sent you? My workflow is set to 20 messages & my Download is set to 'Repeat',  0 delay, 200 Download, Then Wait 60.

15 Messages/min is *way* too high if you've chosen the 'Speed' option.

If you have dialup & you reboot your PC or disconnect & re-connect it is likely that you will be assigned a new IP address. The only way to really know is to run 'ipconfig.exe /all' in an MS-DOS window before & after you disconnect & reconnect. Try it, you'll see what I mean. Make a note of what it says next to 'IP Address'. If it changes then you have a new IP. Also... delete any cookies from Yahoo or they'll know its still you.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I'm not using the speed option and I have Charter cable high speed.

It really hasn't worked in a few weeks.

A few month's ago it started to download a few groups and then would dits out.  I'd come back the next day and it would download a few more groups. (refresh)  I'd say about 40-50 msgs. max each day.

Now it won't download one message.  goes straight to invalid page.

Also,
when I get groups list it says 0.
I have more groups that I am registered with but they don't show.  Only the ones that are on the right side of the add box.
??????????????

This is a different problem.

Previous versions of PG Offline would let you add a new group without adding logon details & you'd get away with that if the group was public. Somewhere along the line we changed that because people sent us email saying, I've added this group & I can't get in (because the group isn't public & you need a logon).

Nowadays if you add groups using the Get Groups List dialogue or manually using Groups--> New Group your current Master Logon details are automatically propagated into any new group you add.

Please highlight a group you're having trouble with in the groups list & right click on it. Now choose Group Settings from the context menu. Now choose the Group Logon tab. Make sure the details entered there for username & password are correct. Please also ensure that you're running the latest version.

Let me know how you get on.

Wilson.

I was able to download some messages today.
I loaded the latest version yesterday.
I think it's about 200 or so and it starts trippin out.
Anyway.  I'll just have to keep my groups refreshed daily once I get caught back up.  Seems to work better if I download one at a time instead of the refresh all button.

Another question while I'm at it.
Blowthruturbo changed to carburetedblowers.
Drawthru changed to drawthrusuper-turbochargers.

Is there any way to "merge" their databases into one so I can delete the old group name whithout loosing the archives??????
Thanks.

Todd,

While it is technically possible, there's not really any good way to merge the groups.  You could just open the tables in Access & copy & paste one to the other, the problem is that the message numbers themselves are the unique key to the table so you'll have a group with two messages 1's & two messages 2's, which the database will not allow. It will just overwrite message 1 from the first group with message 1 from the second group.

What really needs to have happened is for Dick to start the new group by copying all the old messages from the old group into the new group & then letting everyone post to the new group once the copy is complete.

This group copy feature is something I shall be releasing as a service to registered users in about 10 days. It wont be part of PGO for obvious reasons :)

Cheers,

Wilson.

All the messages (archives) are in the new group.  But, one would have to re-download the 8000+ messages again.
Which could be a major pain.  As of now I'll just keep the blowthruturbo as such in pgoffline and just have it set to not try to download messages in that group.  I started the carburetedsuperchers at the last message of 8154 or something in that neighborhood.  It'll work fine that way.
Thanks.

Oh right, I didn't know he'd done it that way.

In that case.... I will subscribe to this new group myself & see if I can copy the messages across.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Todd,

I've got it sorted. I'm doing a tutorial for you on how I copied the messages from one group to the other.

BTW I notice Dick has just renamed the group, yes? Its not been copied from an old group to a new group I don't think.

Cheers,

Wilson.

OK, here's that step by step tutorial:

BTW... making a backup of your groups before trying this might be a good idea!

Alternatively, you can delete blowthruturbo & import this new archive file

http://www.pgoffline.com/groupmanager/Carburetedblowers.zip

which I have uploaded which is Carburetedblowers & contains all the old groups posts & attachments.

Cheers,

Wilson.
