 1) From Linda Lawrie:

http://pgoffline.com/forum/index.php?board=6;action=display;threadid=270

I have "hide >" on in most of my groups.  When I search on a phrase
or keyword, it still searches those and puts those in the list
(which can be confusing when you look at the individual message and
there is no XXX word)  [where XXX was the search word]

<Wilson> I'm thinking: maybe have a tick box in the search dialogue
called "Search hidden text". Default is ticked. User can unselect it
to not search hidden lines.

<Alex> It is impossible to implement this using SQL queries. It can  be  implemented using "record by record" analyzing only but this will work very slowly.

<Wilson>  OK, lets leave this for now.

2) Can we add "Mark all as read" & " Mark all as unread" to the
message  pane context menu?

<Wilson> OK, lets do that.

3) From Loren:

On the Yahoo individual message page "From" line, you can click on
the partial Email address of the person and send the person a
message through Yahoo Mailer. I would like the same feature or a way
to send members an Email---PGO links to Yahoo Mailer. Perhaps a
(Reply to Person). Thanks.

<Alex> In theory it is possible if we will save links like

for every yahoo message to database. Of course it is possible
if it isn't temporary links. This feature will take 70 hrs (parser changes, database
changes,  user interface changes will be required).

<Wilson>Too long. Lets leave it.

4) From Loren:

http://pgoffline.com/forum/index.php?board=6;action=display;threadid=268

In Statistics Report, there is a column of "Date Joined" for
Lurkers. Include a "Date Joined" column in Postings section of
non-luckers.

<Wilson> Date of first post is, for all practical purposes = date joined so this request is already catered for.

Also, in Lurkers section heading, please include information on the
percentage of members of the group who are Luckers.

<Wilson> It would be good just to add one line at the bottom of the
lurkers report "Percentage of members lurking is " xx.x%
OK, lets do it.

5) From Marl Langstone:

http://pgoffline.com/forum/index.php?board=6;action=display;threadid=271

What about adding no of unread local messages to the status bar at
the bottom alongside the local messages and web messages count?

OR

As another thought what about a bracketed number adjacent to each
group
much like outlook does.

For instance the group list would look like:

Qimage (5)
Imatch (24)

breezebrowser (1)
Prism

With the number representing the number of Unread messages in each
group.

<Wilson> OK, lets do it.

6) From Tim (and others):

http://pgoffline.com/forum/index.php?board=6;action=display;threadid=264

Can you add the ability to add messages to favorites, that you found
in a search?

<Wilson> Also, delete from search result. Basically, you'd need to
lock the parent table when the table is selected in the search dialogue
and apply any changes to it when the search dialogue is closed.

<Alex> I think we leave this feature to next time.

<Wilson>  OK.

7) From Loren:

http://pgoffline.com/forum/index.php?board=6;action=display;threadid=262

Would like to see the following in Full Screen View:

1. Button for Favorites

<Wilson> OK.

2. Ability to Mark as read option or it automatically marks as read
from the original message viewed to the last message viewed

<Wilson> OK.

>Go to next message by hitting Spacebar

<Wilson> OK. lets do it.

8) From Lazlo:

http://pgoffline.com/forum/index.php?board=6;action=display;threadid=236

The PG program says it could take up to 20 minutes when Compacting a
database.  I was thinking it might be helpful to include an 'Abort'
option when the warning is given. I X'd off the window instead of
clicking OK but the Compact process initiated anyway. The only
option offered is 'OK'. Now I know how long the process can take but
others might not be aware.

<Wilson> OK, lets do it.

9)

http://pgoffline.com/forum/index.php?board=6;action=display;threadid=54

Can we replace the 'Exact Match' checkbox with a 'Phrase Search'
checkbox. Basically if 'Phrase Search' is checked then the search is
on the full search string e.g. "Green trees" whereas if 'Phrase Search'
is not checked (default) then the search is for "Green" and "trees".

<Wilson> OK.

10) From Phazei:

http://pgoffline.com/forum/index.php?board=6;action=display;threadid=210

It would be nice if there was a right click option on the msg
listing which allowed you to open to that msg in yahoo.  It stores
the msg number so it would just need to open:
groups.yahoo.com/group/groupname/msg#  in the default browser.

<Wilson> OK, lets do it.

11)
http://pgoffline.com/forum/index.php?board=6;action=display;threadid=107

It would be nice if when you hit Reply or "Reply to Group" if the
message would be quoted, so that you could leave a snippet in the
e-mail  so the person you are responding to knows what you are responding
to. Currently, I am using cut and paste.

<Wilson> OK, lets do it, but it needs to be a configurable option in
Email.  A checkbox like this..

 Quote []

If checked it quotes, if not, no quote.

It would also be nice that when replying to a msg there was a choice
to either reply to the msg in either email or perhaps actually
opening a yahoo groups post window and posting to the group
directly.

<Wilson> OK, lets do it.

Jackie

Wilson,
How soon do you think it will be before "Links" can also be saved?

Jackie

Wilson Logan

Hi Jackie,

70 hrs is a *lot* of development time. We will get round to it but probably as part of a full re-write which is scheduled for April.

Sorry,

Wilson.

Jackie

Wilson,
I noticed that you said there would be a complete re-write in April. Will we have to purchase the up date? I have only had mine a month.

Jackie

Jackie

 ???

Wilson,

Is there a way to browse one group while downloading another?

If not...can this feature be added to the re-write?

Jackie

Wilson Logan

Hi jackie,

>Is there a way to browse one group while downloading another?

Sure, just double click on the group you want to browse in the group list (the pane on the left). It is in fact faster to download this way as the update of the current group on the screen takes an appreciable time.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I'm partway into a trial use and like it, but if we're close to an upgrade in April, I'm hesitating about whether to hold off buying till then.  Hope these aren't dumb questions or too far off topic, but could you please tell me

- I assume there's an upgrade fee, roughly how much might it be?
- Would it be waivable for new purchasers in a given window?
- If my trial copy expires, will my downloaded messages survive once I buy the key?

Thanks.

Wilson Logan

> I assume there's an upgrade fee, roughly how much might it be?

There are never any upgrade fees with PGO.

> Would it be waivable for new purchasers in a given window?

See above.

> If my trial copy expires, will my downloaded messages survive once I buy the key?

Yes.

Cheers,

Wilson.
